My wife Kristin and I got married about 5 years ago, and I remember a friend of mine at our church pulling me aside and giving me some "free" advice. He said to me, "Dan, if you want to tank your marriage, be someone different at home than you are at church." I've never forgotten those words, and it's left a standard for me to grow in integrity. Too many times I'm tempted to act more "pastoral" at church than I actually am, and less "pastoral" at home than I actually am.
